Aguada, P.R.

Born in Aguada, Puerto Rico, Agustina was the daughter of the late Juan and Juana (Lopez) Villanueva. Agustina worked outside of her home for many years, but her greatest dedication was always to her family. She contributed deeply to the lives of everyone around her, and there was nothing she would not do for someone she loved. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she was lovingly known for her kindness to animals especially her beloved Pepito. To her family and friends, she was a true respite—someone whose presence brought comfort, peace, and a sense of home. She had a deep love for nature and enjoyed the beauty of the beaches of her hometown of Aguada. Her past time was gardening and tending to her fruit trees, herbs and her pride and joy roses and gardenias. Her mastery of Puerto Rican cooking was legendary within the family—every dish she prepared carried her love, and her meals were the highlight of many gatherings. She was always willing to share her love of cooking with her sons, daughter, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren, passing down her cherished traditions and flavors. After living in the United States for many years, Agustina fulfilled her lifelong wish of building a home in Puerto Rico, where she lived full time to care for her garden, her beloved husband, and the animals who found comfort in her kindness.
