Aida Resto, 79, passed away peacefully in her home in Bloomfield, on Tuesday, November 17, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. Born on Aug. 16, 1936 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico, she spent most of her life in Hartford, CT. She was a parishioner of St. Peter Church in Hartford for over 40 years, and a member of the Women's Group at the church. She was predeceased by her late-husband, Martin Resto; her parents Teodoro and Abad (Maldonado) Hernández, and by her sister, Flor Martinez. She is survived by her children and spouses, Ramón and Nilda (Resto) Hernández of Bloomfield, Martin Jr. and Maribel Resto of East Windsor, Robert and Aida Raquel (Resto) Orta of Florida, Heriberto and Janet Resto of Manchester, and Daisy Resto of East Hartford; her siblings, Carmen (Hernández) Cortes, Maria (Hernández) Resto, Victor Hernández, and Marta Hernández and their families; and 10 grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews. Aida will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 5-8 pm at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, November 20th at 10:00 am in St. Peter's Church, 160 Main Street, Hartford. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Mount St. Benedict Cemetery in Bloomfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Aida's memory be made to St. Peter Church.
