Aida M. Valdivia, 95, of Hartford, CT passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital. Aida was born in Lima, Peru and was the daughter of the late Mariano and Maria (Lopez-Peralta) Valdivia. She attended Secretarial School in Peru and was a self-taught seamstress. She worked in Kolodney & Co. Inc. for 15 years as a seamstress and worked 25 years at the Aetna Life & Casualty and held many job titles. Our beloved Auntie Aida was known as a loyal protector, generous, kind, and compassionate soul. She loved to spend time with her family and was a prayer warrior, prayer her rosary once or twice daily.

Aida is survived by her nieces, nephews and nieces and nephews in-law: Dora & Luis Velez, Blanca & Angel Vazquez, and Haydee & Hector Mercado, Patricia & Edwin Centano, Maria, Raul & Rosa, Felix & Jackie Valdivia, Fany & Jovan Perez, Ridgely Artola, and great-nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews in-law: Marco & Moriah Vazquez, Jasmin Vazquez, Sarea & Michael Kipphut, Jonathan & Serena Rosado, Victoria Rosado, Crystal Mercado, Rodrigo Valdivia, and her beloved great-great nephews: Gael Rosado & Carter Kipphut and two great-nieces and four great-nephews in Peru. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Antonio, Raul, Oswaldo, & Eva Ciudad, and her nephew Dr. Marco Perez of Peru. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and always remembered in our hearts. We are sincerely grateful to the many friends who have given us support and comfort during this time of loss. We would like to extend our special gratitude to her compadre, Mr. Alipio Quiroz, Ms. Bessie Warren, and Shaniel Brown for their loving kindness and support they showed to Auntie Aida.

Funeral service for Aida will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 11am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 79 New Park Ave., Hartford, CT. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, CT Tuesday, August 20th from 4pm to 6pm.
