Alejandro W. Gamarra, 69, of Hartford, CT departed this life on Thursday, September 29, 2022 to be with Christ. Alex was born in Lince Lima, Peru on January 11, 1953 and was the son of the late Aurelia Gamarra. He was raised in Hartford and graduated Weaver High School. He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was a Vietnam Veteran and did security for the United States Embassy in 8 countries. He came home and completed Broadcasting school. His favorite pastime was playing and watching soccer. He never missed a game on TV and loved cheering for his team Peru. Alex was the past president of "Hesmiperu" and Hermandad de El Senor de Los Milagros.

Alex is survived by his wife and two daughters and sons-in-law, one granddaughter and three grandsons; one brother and nieces in Lima; Cousin, nieces and nephews in CT; nieces in FL and Brother-in-law and Sister-in-law in Panama.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at 11 am at Maria Reina de la Paz, 494 New Britain Ave., Hartford, CT. Burial, with full military honors, will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield prior to the Mass on Thursday between 9 and 10:30 am.
