Alexandria "Alex" Szerejko.
Alexandria (Mihon) Szerejko, 91, widow of Stanley Szerejko, passed away on March 2, 2016 from Alzheimer's Disease. Alex was a lifelong resident of Hartford graduating from Hartford Public High School. She was a communicant of S.S. Cyril & Methodius Church and proud of her Polish heritage. She was very involved in her daughters' activities. She was a member of many clubs, where she also served as president as well as other officers for all of them. These included PTO, Ladies' Guild, Rosary Society, Polish Cultural Club and The Business and Professional Women's Club of Hartford. Alex started her working career at Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance. After raising her children, she returned to work at Society for Savings Bank, The Hartford Courant and finally retiring from Travelers Insurance as an executive secretary. Her grandchildren filled her retirement days with joy and laughter. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and needlepoint and was an avid reader. She loved visiting Cape Cod every fall. Alexandria leaves her three daughters Teresa Szerejko of Hartford, Alice Szerejko Nista and beloved granddaughter Alexandria Nista of Hartford , and Anne Szerejko Bunting and her husband David and her beloved grandson Spencer of Rocky Hill. She leaves Aaron Bunting and his wife Amy and their children of Washington State. She also leaves a special friend of the family Kevin White. She leaves her sister Julie Jerzyk of Shelton. She was predeased by her sister Louise Lestage. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 10:00 am at S.S. Cyril and Methodius Church, 61 Popieluszko Court, Hartford. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
