Alice T. Crane peacefully passed away on July 3, 2012 at the age of 88. Alice was born in Hartford one of four children to Naum and Rose Ponchiak Tchiakow. She was married to the late Frank E. Crane and raised her family in the Foster Heights section of Hartford, before moving to Wethersfield in 1969. For over 30 years Alice was the loyal and dedicated office manager at West Hartford Supply Company. Alice was a loving and devoted mother to her sons, Gary and Glen and doting grandmother to Lindsay, Brittany and Brendan.
She had an extremely close and life-long relationship with her sister Anita Tchaikow, who loyally stood by Alice, throughout her extended illness. She was predeceased by her beloved son Gary, her brother Stefan Tchaikow and her sisters Doris Paladino and Ceil Hasbrooke. She leaves her devoted sister Anita Tchaikow of Wethersfield, her son Glen and his wife Collette of Farmington, grandchildren Lindsay Guzman and her husband Luis of Florida, Brittany Crane of Farmington and Brendan Feery of New York and a great-granddaughter Leila Guzman. Alice will forever be remembered by her loved ones, for her devotion, strength of character and independent spirit.
A memorial service will be held on Monday July 16 from 5 – 7 pm at the Dillon Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 2075 Silas Deane Hwy Suite 100 Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
