It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Anastasia (Tsanias) Merkouriou, on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at Hartford Hospital at the age of 71.
She was born in Rhodes, Greece, daughter of Despina (Hatzidiakou) Tsanias and the late Emanuel Tsanias. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Elias Merkouriou and her beloved daughter Desi Merkouriou. She is survived by her daughter Tina (Merkouriou) Skelly and her husband Jon Skelly of Arizona, two beloved granddaughters Alessandra and Daniela Skelly of Arizona, a brother Theodore Tsanias of Windsor and many nieces and nephews. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
The funeral will be Tuesday, November 27, 2018, 11 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Visiting hours will be Tuesday prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield.
