Andrew E. Podaridis, 89 of Windsor, beloved husband of Zafiria (Kanari) Podaridis, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. He was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, son of the late Stratos and Kalliopi (Vatis) Podaridis, and had lived in Windsor since 1986. Prior to his retirement, Andrew was a civil engineer for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Hartford, as well as a past member of the church's parish council.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Gary Podaridis of Brentwood, CA, his daughter Gail Podaridis, of Spring TX, his grandson Jason Andrew P. Smith of Houston TX, his great granddaughter Sophia Podaridis Smith of Houston, TX, his brother Kostas Podaridis of Greece.  Andrew also leaves many nieces and nephews in Greece and a nephew Babis Andreadis of San Fransico, CA

A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 12 noon at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave. Hartford, CT 06114, with the Rev. Dr. George Zugravu officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at the Dillon Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpk. Wethersfield, CT, from 4 pm to 7 pm. A Trisayion Service will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home, at 4:45 pm.
