Armando Perez, 77 of Hartford, beloved husband of Gloria E. Soto Perez, passed away Sunday May 3, 2020 at Avery Heights Nursing Home in Hartford. He was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, son of the late Octavio and Agustina Gomez Perez, and was a resident of Hartford, CT for 25 years. He belonged to Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Hartford. He was an incredibly determined man and he self- taught himself how to repair cars and all types of electronical devices. He had a passion for music, whether it was blasting his record player with classics from Puerto Rico and his favorite Mexican artists to playing his many guitars. Being from the countryside in Puerto Rico, he naturally was drawn to planting flowers and vegetables and everything he touched flourished. One of his favorite pastimes was visiting Elizabeth Park in West Hartford and seeing all the roses and feeding the ducks. He leaves behind the following family members: Two sons- Rafael Perez and his wife Miriam Perez of Brooklyn, New York and Heriberto Perez of Hartford, CT. Three daughters: Roselia Perez Sookdeo and her husband Tony Sookdeo of Staten Island, New York; Gloria Rodriguez and her husband Jesus Rodriguez of Hartford, and Augustina Rivera and her husband Mike Rivera of East Hartford, CT. Armando also leaves behind 11 grandchildren: Linda, Michael, Michelle, Christopher, Anthony, Mariaesther, Tina, Cristina, Karina, Diego and Liam Armando; 9 great grandchildren: Miyanna, Jaiden, Adrian, Leila Rose, Liam, Elena, Zoriah, Savannah, and Isaiah. He also leaves behind two sisters Carmen Perez of Brooklyn, New York and Ana Serrano of Bronx, New York. The funeral will be private with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
