Arthur Hourihan passed away on April 22, 2019 at the age of 86 years.
He was born November 2, 1932 in Hartford, Connecticut, son of the late Arthur and Mary (Mulrain) Hourihan. He attended public schools in Hartford, Connecticut prior to attending and graduating from the University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. Arthur served honorably in the United States Army from June 1956 through May 1958 with service in the Middle East, including Libya. Arthur was an avid traveler, outdoors-man and fisherman, and spent many days traveling, camping and fishing with his family. He took great joy in visiting historical locations globally, and sharing his immense knowledge (and humor) with his friends and family. He was a master builder who, like his father, enjoyed building structures and tinkering with cars.
Arthur was a devoted husband and father, and a friend to all. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Arline Everin Hourihan. They were married on May 14, 1960 at Saint Peter's Church in Hartford, Connecticut. Arthur and Arline had five children – Arthur, Ann, James, Brian and David Hourihan. Arthur is survived by his wife and all his children, his daughter-in-laws – Elizabeth, Dianne and Kari, and his seven grandchildren – Conner, Madison, David, Erin, Liam, Adia and Rori Hourihan.
Arthur is also survived by his brothers – Patrick and Michael Hourihan, and sisters – Mary Milewski and Louise Roberts, as well as his sister-in-laws – Arlene and Rita Hourihan and brother-in-law – Carl Milewski.
