Aurelio "Tony" Mascolo, 80, of Hartford, CT, beloved husband of Angela Maria (Ruocco) Mascolo passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. Tony was born in Agerola, Italy and was the son of the late Gennaro Mascolo and Anna Buoncore.

Tony was a loving and devoted family man. He had a special place in his heart for all of his grandchildren. He enjoyed visiting his hometown in Italy to see family and friends. Tony was proud to say he was a retired employee of Colt's Firearms, where he worked for almost 40 years. He had fun bowling with friends.  However, he was most passionate about soccer.  He delighted in watching Serie A matches every week.  Tony always rooted for his beloved Napoli.  He was at one point a coach and referee for local soccer teams in Hartford.  Every summer he tended to his tomato garden, fig trees, peach trees, and grapes. Tony loved taking his family to Italian festivals, where he enjoyed listening to live Italian music while eating a pizza fritta. He loved his children with all his heart. There was no father like him!

Besides his wife Angela, Tony is survived by his son Gennaro Mascolo, his daughter Anna Maida and her husband Domenic, his three grandchildren Diane Maida, Antonio Maida, Gina Cohen and her husband Eli, and great grandson Parker Cohen, his brother-in-law Gennaro Ruocco, his niece Rosa Ruocco and his nephew Andrew Ruocco, along with many other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Tony was predeceased by his two sisters Maria Grazia Mascolo and Ida Ruocco and his brother Giuseppe Mascolo.

Funeral rites for Tony will be held Thursday, September 22, 2022 at 12 p.m. at St. Augustine Church, 10 Campfield Ave., Hartford, CT. Committal service and final resting place will be in Cedar Hill Mausoleum #2, Hartford, CT.
