Barbara L. (McCarthy) Kittredge, 78, of Ashford, died Friday, May 29, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Kelly) McCarthy. She lived in West Hartford for over 20 years before moving to Ashford. Prior to her retirement, Barbara worked for The Aetna Insurance Co. for 26 years. She later worked for the CT Historical Society for 14 years, and Nathan Hale Homestead. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She is survived by a son James F. Kittredge of Ashford, a daughter Shirley A. Kittredge-Privee and her husband William of Ashford, two grandchildren Kevin Privee and his wife Sam, and Joshua Privee, and a great grandson Carson, and many friends. Friends may call at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, Wednesday, June 3rd, 9-11am; 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30 am in Corpus Christi Church , 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
