Barbara Wheeler Wood age 84, of Longvue Drive, Wethersfield, died December 2nd, 2019.  She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, daughter of the late Allen and Cloma Wheeler. Barbara had lived in Hartford before moving to Wethersfield in 1957.  She was employed by the Wethersfield Board of Education since 1970 as a special ed. teacher's aide.  She also worked part time at Marshalls in Wethersfield.

Barbara is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Debra and Daniel Phelan of Wethersfield, her son Keith Wood and her five beloved grandchildren, Danny Phelan, Casey Sima and husband Matt, Aimee Wood and Sean Bell, Adam Wood and Brian Phelan who predeceased her in 2014.  She also leaves behind her brother-in-law Charles Mavlouganes and her two nephews and their wives, James and Patty Mavlouganes and David and Darcie Mavlouganes, and their children Ryan and Zachary Mavlouganes.  The greatest joy was her four great-grandchildren Chloe Phelan of Forest City, NC, Aria and Parker Sima of Southington and Kane Bell of Wethersfield.  Barbara is also leaves her daughter-in-law Coleen Wood, who is 'always there during drama.'  Besides her parents and grandson, she was predeceased by her sister Beverly Mavlouganes.
