Beatrice Mozdziak Pugsley, 94, of Hartford, CT passed peacefully on August 3, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on June 5, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John and Sophie (Turek) Mozdziak. Beatrice graduated from Saint Stanislaus School in 1944, and Meriden High School in 1948. She also attended Hillyer College in Hartford. Mrs. Pugsley worked at Connecticut Bank and Trust in Meriden and Wethersfield for many years, as well as the Travelers Insurance Company for 25 years. She retired in 1996. Beatrice was a loving and devoted wife of the late Edward E. Pugsley for 36 years as well as being devoted loving Mother to Peter and grandmother to Veronica throughout their lifetimes. She was an active member of both the Newington and Elmwood Senior Centers, where she enjoyed playing cards and taking many trips. She enjoyed bowling with her husband in the Insurance League Mixed Doubles. Mrs. Pugsley was predeceased by her husband and four brothers; Carl Mozdziak Sr., Matthew Mozdziak, Francis Mozdziak, Henry Mozdziak. She was also predeceased by five sisters, Sophie Crosson, Stephanie Casner, Theresa Shurack, Rose Mozdziak, and Clara Mozdziak.

Beatrice is survived by her loving son Peter E. Pugsley and his wife Laurie Vaillancourt-Pugsley of Avon, as well as her granddaughter Veronica J. Pugsley, also of Avon; as well as several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Clinton Kuwada and Dr. Ashkay Patel of Connecticut Ear, Nose and Throat Associates for their excellent care Beatrice received during her cancer treatment, the Wound Center of Hartford Hospital and the Hospice Care of Hartford, as well as the staff of Avon Health Care Center for her latest hospice care.

Funeral service for Beatrice will be held Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Christ the King Parish at Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect Street, Wethersfield, CT. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Relatives and friends may call at the Dillon­ Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield, CT Saturday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
