Bhagwantie "Baby" Ramgeer, 78, of Hartford, CT, passed away peacefully at Hartford Hospital on January 19 ^th , 2022. Bhagwantie was born on February 27, 1943, in Tiger Island, Essequibo, Guyana to Sundar and Ram Geer and an older brother, Jai Singh Geer. She later moved to Dhoorn Haag Leguan. Bhagwantie married in 1962 to Isri Singh, and moved to Dewilliam, Guyana, where she lived until immigrating to the United States in 1988.  Upon arriving to the United States, Bhagwantie worked at a bank until her first granddaughter, Ashley, was born. She then retired early to become a full-time caretaker.

Bhagwantie enjoyed being surrounded by her family, cooking delicious Guyanese dishes, watching Indian soap operas, and solving word search puzzles. She will be remembered for several qualities, but her pure heart and immeasurable kindness are unique to her. Without hesitation, she was always willing to put others' needs before herself, never needing to have anything in return.

Bhagwantie is survived by her four daughters and their spouses: Shanta, Geeta and Omkar, Cleo and Louis, and Indira and Ram. Her five grandchildren: Ashley, Pratima, Mahesh, Jasmine, and Brandon. Her two nieces: Dolly and Savi, and her nephew: Shamo. And many sisters-in-laws, nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

Funeral arrangements have been scheduled as follows:

Visitation/viewing: Friday, January 21 ^st between 5pm-8pm

Hindu services: Saturday, January 22 ^nd between 9am-12pm, proceeded by cremation
