It is with heavy hearts we announce that Boguslaw "Bogdan" Draka, 66, of Hartford, CT passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 surrounded by loved ones. Boguslaw was born in 1959 in Osmolowszczyzna, Poland and was the son of the late Czeslaw and Genowefa (Boszko) Draka.

Boguslaw immigrated to the United States in 1984.  He initially worked at the Polish American Republican Club in Hartford, then joined a construction roofing crew, and most recently was employed at an aerospace machine shop.  In his spare time Boguslaw loved grilling and spending his days outside relaxing and gardening. He cherished moments with friends and family, loved traveling and watching movies. He loved get-togethers for holidays and any occasion that involved cake and chocolates. Boguslaw was a generous friend with a disarming wit that allowed him to connect with just about anyone. Boguslaw's love for family and friends was evident in all he did, and he will be deeply missed by all.  His positive energy and his will to help made him well-liked by everyone that knew him.  Although Bogdan's physical presence may no longer grace our lives, his spirit will continue to inspire and uplift us all.

Boguslaw is survived by his ex-wife Zdzislawa, his son Andrzej Draka, his dear friend Maria Burek and her family, his brothers Jan Draka and Stanislaw Draka and their families, his sister Krystyna Fiodorowicz, the Szarejko family, sister-in-law Cecylia Sciepura and her family, as well as numerous nephews, nieces, extended family members, and friends.

Boguslaw was preceded in death by his parents Czeslaw and Genowefa, and brother Marian Draka.

There are no words that can express how grateful we are to those who were there for us before Boguslaw's passing. We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Hartford Hospital Oncology Center for their compassionate care.

Memorial donations in Boguslaws name may be made to SS. Cyril & Methodius Church in Hartford or The Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center.

Funeral service for Boguslaw will be held Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 10am at SS. Cyril & Methodius, 61 Popieluszko Court, Hartford, CT. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
