Bro. Roger E. St. Germain, M.S., 88, a member of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette, died February 27, 2022 at the La Salette residence in Hartford, CT.  He was born June 12, 1933 in E. Blackstone, MA, son of the late Elphege and Evelina (Lavallee) St. Germain.  He attended grammar school in E. Blackstone, MA and Woonsocket, RI; and high school in Chicago, IL.  Brother Roger entered the La Salette Novitiate in East Brewster, MA on September 10, 1950.  He made his First Profession of Vows on July 2, 1952 and professed his Perpetual Vows on July 2, 1957.

Throughout his La Salette life, Brother Roger served his religious community in many ways. He lived and worked at Our Lady of La Salette Shrine in Enfield, NH; the La Salette Seminary in East Brewster, MA; and the Attleboro Seminary in Attleboro, MA.  From 1975 to 1980, he was elected to the Provincial House council in Attleboro.  In 1980, he ministered at Holy Redeemer Parish in Lebanon, NH and went on to St. Helena Parish in Enfield, NH in 1988.  In 2000, Brother Roger was assigned to the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro and retired in 2007.  He moved to Hartford in 2020 where he resided until his death.

He was predeceased by his brother Armand St. Germain and his sister Theresa Chartrand.

The wake will be at the National Shrine of Our Lady of La Salette in Attleboro, Massachusetts on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 7:00pm to 8:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be at the Shrine church on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:30am.  Burial will follow in the spring at the La Salette Cemetery in Enfield, New Hampshire.
