Carmen J.
Reyes-Rivera
Apr 25, 1951 — May 21, 2021
Hartford
Carmen J. Reyes-Rivera, age 70, of Hartford, Connecticut, passed away at St. Francis Hospital on May 21, 2021, with her devoted family at her side. She was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico to her late loving parents Evaristo Rivera and Evarista Garay, and moved to Hartford in 1960. She dedicated much of her time as a caregiver to loved ones.
Carmen was a committed and loving wife to her husband Angel Luis Reyes, a gentle and caring mother to her children Nereida Feliciano (Manuel), Nuni Feliciano (Jesse James), Gee Feliciano (Noel), Miguel Feliciano (Indira) and Wanda Feliciano-Medina (Rufino). She was a proud grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a beloved sister to her siblings (Jorge Rivera, Heriberto Rivera, Margarita Rivera, JR Rivera, Gerardo Rivera and Lucy Rivera). A kind aunt to many nieces and nephews, which she adored, and a beautiful friend to many. Nurturing, preservation and enjoyment of family and friendships were powerful lifelong attributes for Carmen.
Carmen loved spending time with her family, at countless family gatherings/vacations, dancing, reading, and playing games. She was an avid and loyal New York Yankees and Patriots fan. Although she was humble and gracious in every intimate setting involving family and friends, her matrilineal pride spoke volumes as it always exuded effortlessly.
She was predeceased by her step-father Serafin Garay and her oldest brother Julio Rivera.
