Clement J.
"Sonny" Senatro
Sep 28, 1938 — Jun 26, 2023
Newington
Clement J. Senatro "Sonny", 84, of Newington, CT formerly of Wethersfield, CT beloved husband of the late Eugenia S. Senatro "Jean", passed away on June 26, 2023. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late James Vincent Senatro and the late Wanda Mitchell. Sonny was a graduate of Hartford Public High School, class of 1957. After graduation, Sonny went to work with the United States Postal Service, until making a move to the Pratt and Whitney Aircraft Company, where he served as a dedicated and hard-working employee in many vital roles. Sonny retired in 1995, but still kept busy working part time for Nordstrom's Department Store. Sonny was a long time parishioner of the Church of the Incarnation in Wethersfield, serving over the years in many of the ministries. Sonny was truly loved and appreciated by all those who entered his life, because he truly loved and appreciated all who entered his life. Sonny loved to meet people and learn about them - their work, their families, and their backgrounds. He made everyone feel special because he truly believed that they were special. Sonny would spread sunshine with a joke, a story or sometimes just a hug. When people asked Sonny how he was doing, he would say "better now that you are here", and he meant it. Sonny would always say that he was so blessed to have such good friends and such a wonderful family, but it was his friends and family who were blessed by the example he set for others, which was to make the most out of the gift of life and love.
Sonny is survived by many dear cousins, to include Stephen Senatro and his wife Christine, Donna Kane and her husband Raymond, Cynthia Gondek and her husband Gregory, Charlotte Trewin, Ted Niedwick and Marsha Price. Sonny is also survived by his brother-in-law, Chester "Chet" Lesinski, and his nephews and nieces: Brian Lesinski, his wife Lisa, and their children, Chase, Rachel and Jillian; Lisa Kosicki, her husband Robert and their children Marissa Cerra (Tony) and Daniel; and Mark S. Karangekis, his wife Amy, and their children Nicholas, Mitchell, Jason and Grace. Sonny was pre-deceased by the love of his life, his wife Eugenia S. Senatro "Jean". The two were married for 56 years and were a match made in heaven. Sonny was also pre-deceased by his brother, Robert "Bobby" Senatro, his cousin Clement A. Senatro "Bud" and his wife, Lucy, his uncle and aunt, Henry and Mildred MacDonald, his brother-in-law, John S. Karangekis and his wife, Nancy, and his sister-in-law, Kaliope "Kal" Lesinski.
The family would like to thank the Aides, Nurses, Physicians Assistants and Doctors at Hartford Hospital, The Jefferson House, as well his Personal Care Aides from Hartford Health Care - Independence at Home, especially his very special friend and caretaker, Amelia, for the care and compassion provided to Sonny. A special thanks to the staff and residents of Cedar Mountain Commons for making CMC a very special home to Sonny. He loved the staff and residents, who each touched Sonny in their own special way.
