Concetta R.
Mingo
Aug 18, 1925 — Jul 29, 2018
Wethersfield
Concetta "Tina" (Rossi) Mingo, 92, of Wethersfield and Rocky Hill, died Sunday, July 29, 2018. She was born on August 18, 1925 in Hartford and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elena (Santinella) Rossi.
Tina was a loving and generous woman who was the heart of her family and a dear friend to many. Over the years she enjoyed cooking, music, bowling, and volunteering at the Newington Children's Hospital.
Tina worked in retail for a time until she began to help manage her husband's family farm. She tended the books, ordered supplies, dealt with customers, and transported the help. Sundays were reserved for family time; her freshly made tomato sauce brought all her family together for many memorable dinners.
She was loved deeply and will be remembered by her family who include her daughters and their spouses; Elaine Durato (Bob) of Manchester; Carol Mingo-Revill (Bill) of Meriden; and Debbie Rizza (Tony) of Rocky Hill. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Aaron Revill (Heather), Christopher Revill (Victoria), Danielle Rizza, Nicholas Rizza, and Amy Hufnagel (Joseph). She also leaves her great-grandchildren Benjamin, Felicity and Zoe as well as her sisters, Lucy Bull and Yolanda Rossi, and sister-in-law Lucy Rossi, along with nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends. She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Joseph Mingo, and her brother John Rossi.
Tina's family would like to thank, Masters in Home Care, Masonicare, The HomeAides, and Apple Rehab, for their compassionate care and support.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, August 3 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 4, 10:00 AM at St. Josephine Bakhita (St. James Church), 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. Friends are asked to go directly to the church.
