David Russell Hansen, 46, of Manchester, and a former Wethersfield resident, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, February 26, 2013. He was born in Midland, Michigan and had lived in Wethersfield before moving to Manchester nine years ago. David was a tin knocker for Local 40, he constructed many copper roofs in the Hartford area which he was very proud of. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the great outdoors. He is survived by his mother Nicolee and his step father Gordon Harris of Wethersfield, and he was a proud father to his two sons, Riley and Zachary Hansen, his sister Barbie Lynn Curran and her husband Mark Curran of Rocky Hill. He leaves his two nieces, Jade and Haley Anderson and their father Craig Anderson, and his beloved Jack Russell Terriers. A funeral service will be held Sunday, March 3, 2013, at 3 p.m. at The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield, with the Rev. T. Michael McDowell officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 1-3 p.m. March 3rd prior to the funeral.
