Demetra N. Avdoulos, 89, of Glastonbury, passed away on July 20, 2018.  Born in Fitchburg, MA, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Antonia (Ladas) Nikitas.  Demetra worked as a secretary in the school system.  She enjoyed volunteering at St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Hartford where she was a communicant.  She was part of the Daughters of Penelope Thaos Chapter 198 for 71 years and the Ladies of Philoptochos Society.  Demetra is survived by her son Michael S. Avdoulos of Glastonbury and her extended family and friends.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Simeon Avdoulos in 1985.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday, July 24, 10 AM, at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford, CT 06114.  Burial will be private.  Calling hours will be held at the church from 9-10 AM, prior to the service, with a Trisayion Service at 9:45 AM.  Memorial contributions in Demetra's memory may be made out to the church.  Please visit www.dillonbaxter.com to share a memory with the family.
