Demetrio J.
Amaro
Dec 22, 1939 — Jul 28, 2025
Manchester
Demetrio J. Amaro also known as Johnny, 85, of Manchester, CT beloved husband of Carmen A. Amaro passed away Monday, July 28, 2025 at Hartford Hospital. Demetrio was born in Arroyo, Puerto Rico and was the son of the late Severo and Virginia (Navarro) Amaro. Demetrio was passionate about music and started a band young with his wife. He was the go to person if someone wanted to learn an instrument or wanted advice. He played the trumpet, piano, congos, and many more. Above all, Demetrio was a family man. He loved his family immensely and worked hard as a welder for most of his adult life until he was 73 years young to provide a loving and stable home for his entire family. Demetrio would bring back home these crazy creations he made as a welder like multiple metal back scratchers. He enjoyed his yearly trips to Puerto Rico and always looked towards the next one even though he would always say "ahh its okay, save your money. I don't need to go." We always made sure he never had to worry about a thing. Demetrio was always giving and would give the shirt off his back to anyone. He loved and accepted everyone's company even if it was his first time meeting you. You were family the moment he met you. Demetrio was a god-fearing man, attended church faithfully every Sunday, and always made sure to tell everyone, didn't matter who you were and even until the very end, "Dios te bendiga en el nombre de Jesus, Amen. Jesus loves you." We will miss him immensely.
Besides his wife Carmen, Demetrio is survived by his three sons Luis D. Amaro, Rafael J. Amaro and Edwin Amaro, his three daughters Laura V. Amaro, Lourdes Amaro and Johanna Amaro, his two brothers William Amaro and King Amaro, his sister Martha Bilbraut Amaro, his thirteen grandchildren Edwin Phillips, Edwin A. Amaro, Carmen T. Tirado, Cassandra T. Banville, Edwin D. Tirado, Jonathan S. Amaro, Jexiel J. Amaro, Brianna Amaro, Rafael Amaro, Niomi Cora, Rafael Cora, Fransua N. Solier, Natasha M. Solier, and five great grandchildren Celeste S. Poirer, , Nathanael V. Sanchez, and Ethan S. Sanchez, Erick Y. Figueroa, Derick. J Figueroa. Demetrio was predeceased by his brother Rufino Amaro and his 2 sisters, Maria Amaro, and Aurea D. Amaro.
