Deodat Rai, 64, of Hartford, CT passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday, June 14, 2025. He was born in No.64 village Corentyne Berbice, Guyana.  Son of Sahoudri (Jaipersaud) Rai and the late Jaswant Rai. In the year 2000, he moved to the United States in Hartford, CT. During his life he worked as a farmer, mechanic, machine operator and most recent warehouse supervisor. Some of his hobbies were watching and playing cricket, fishing and playing dominoes with his friends.

Deodat leaves behind his two daughters, Sunieta Rai and Narinee Rai, both of Hartford. Grandfather of Jayden, Aiden and Ariana Rai. Father in law of Sabir Huussin, He was the ex-husband of  Kush. He was the brother of Himansu Rai, Omchand Rai, and the late Indra Davi Rai and Indira Rai, Brother-in-law of Leelawattie  Rai and Reheeney Rai and others. Nephew of Jankie Sukoo and others Uncle to Raj, Preya, Reena, Dolly, Anil and Lisa, Friend of Brian Persaud, Paul and Papalo.

The funeral will be Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Dillon Baxter Funeral Home,1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield, CT from 10 am to 12 pm with a service at 11 am.
