Doris M. F. (LaChance) Dean, 93, beloved wife of George H. Dean for 71 years, entered into eternal rest while surrounded by her loving family Friday, July 8, 2016 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in St. Evariste, Quebec, Canada daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Samson) LaChance. She lived most of her life in Hartford and moved to West Hartford in 1985. Doris was a loving wife, mother, mémère and friend to many. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Cathedral for 71 years where she enjoyed volunteering. Doris loved to crochet and cook for family and friends. Besides her husband she is survived by her seven children, Daniel and Cindy Dean of Nashua, NH, Robert and Gloria Dean of Newington, Carol and Mark Gilbert of Marlborough, Priscilla Prior and her late husband William Prior of Colchester, George J. Dean of Lawndale, CA, James Dean of West Hartford, Jacqueline and John Kiefel of Downingtown, PA. She also leaves behind her 13 grandchildren, Daniel Jr., Stephen, Melissa, Christopher, Heather, Jessica, Leah, Christina, Matthew, Jason, Justin, Jocelyn and Jennifer, and her 7 great-grandchildren, Sara, Joshua, Heather, Sean Jr., Sarah, Ebon and Victoria. She was predeceased by her grandson Josiah Kiefel, her 2 brothers, Victor and John LaChance and her sister Madeleine Ouellette. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 30, 2016, in the Cathedral of St. Joseph, 140 Farmington Ave., Hartford. Visiting hours will be Friday, July 29th, from 4-7 p.m., at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield.
