Obituary

Doris "Jeanette" Rediker, 87, of Palmetto, Florida, formally of Bristol, CT, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026 at Tidewell Hospice Bradenton. Jeanette was born in Richford, VT and was the daughter of the late Peter and Doris (Donna) Phaneuf. Although Jeanette faced hardships of her own throughout her life, she devoted 22 years to the Plainville Group Home, where she dedicated herself to improving the lives and futures of young girls who had endured hardships far greater than her own. She brought compassion, patience, and unwavering care to those she served, always striving to give them hope and a better path forward. Through her kindness and devotion, Jeanette touched countless lives, leaving those fortunate enough to know her with a little more happiness, strength, and hope than they had before.

She was a loving and caring woman with a heart of gold. Jeanette was strong and brave, and her family was always her pride and joy. She loved deeply, supported the people she cared about, and always carried her family close to her heart, no matter the distance. Jeanette was soft-spoken but wise; when she spoke, you listened wholeheartedly, because her words were thoughtful, meaningful, and always came from the heart. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren meant so much to her. Her home was filled with pictures of them, surrounded by the little things that made her happy, including her beloved frog decorations. She loved her plants, sitting outside and enjoying the weather, listening to music, and dancing. And, of course, she enjoyed relaxing with a nice glass of wine. Jeanette found happiness in the simple things, but the greatest joy in her life was her family. Her love was unconditional, and the memories she gave us will stay in our hearts forever. She lived a long life, touched so many people, and will be deeply missed. We will miss her voice, her wisdom, her laughter, and all the little things that made her who she was. Most of all, we will miss the love she gave so freely. Jeanette may no longer be with us, but her love will remain a part of us always. We will carry her in our hearts, cherish the memories we shared, and love her forever.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter Sherry McNamara and her husband Gregory, her son Brad Rediker, her grandchildren Christine Welch, Sarah DeJesus and her husband Jason, Renee McNamara and Adam Seeger and his wife Laura, Daniel Rediker and Nicholas Rediker, her great grandchildren Caleb, Amelia, Evan, Ellianna, Caiden, Jenee, Mason and Gianna. Jeanette was predeceased by her daughter Tammy Rediker-Dutil, her two sons Rand Rediker and Kirk Rediker, her four brothers Eugene Phaneuf, Harold Phaneuf, William Phaneuf and Robert Phaneuf.
