Dorothy Elizabeth (Manor) Parrott of Wethersfield passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Hartford Hospital. Born and raised in Morrisonville, New York, She met and married the love of her life her best friend, Harold Parrott Sr. They moved to Hartford in the 1950's from upstate New York. She was employed with Royal Typewriter, Sam Johns Restaurant, Lepper Printing, and retired from the Hartford Insurance Company after 22 years at the age of 65. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Walter and Rose Delia Manor two brothers Harold and Louis, her mother in law Myrtle Porter, and a sister in law Kathleen Manor. Dorothy leaves Harold, her husband of 58 years, two brothers Leroy and his wife Delores of Florida and Lawrence of Potsdam, New York. Sons, Russell and wife Donna of Newington, Harold Jr. and his wife Stephanie of Wethersfield. Grandchildren; Russell, Christopher, Stephanie and her husband Todd, Harold III, Craig, Tori, Bryan and Kaila. Great Grandchildren Jordan, Gabriella(mumi-kanumi), Cassidy, Olivia, Jack , several nieces and nephews, her nephew Alan with whom every conversation started "hey it's my favorite aunt it's my favorite nephew. She enjoyed her daily trips to Stop & Shop, taking a drive Sunday dinners which she played with Samson, Delilah, Otis and Jerry the dumpster cat, and playing with her cats Fluffy, Midnight, and Fat Sammy. She lived a very simple life, not wanting for anything just being happy and enjoying time spent with family especially with her grandchildren .The funeral will be Saturday, December 10, 2011, 11 a.m. at The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Visiting hours will be Saturday, December 10th prior to the funeral, 9-11 a.m.The family wishes to thank the staffs of the Helen and Harry Gray Cancer Center and the Hartford Hospital ICU for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to The American Cancer Society or The Helen and Harry Gray Center.
