Efrain Diaz 86 of Hartford, beloved husband of Maria Diaz passed away Friday, February 26, 2021 after a brief illness at Hartford Hospital. Born in Huacho, Peru and son of the late Eladio and Laura LaRosa-Díaz, Efraín lived in Hartford for many years, where he worked for the City of Hartford for over 30 years. Efraín was a unique, joyful and one of a kind person. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends where he laughed, sang and danced the night away. He loved his plants but especially his fruit trees which he maintained impeccably. A true gem in every way. Efraín will be remembered wearing his aviator glasses and fedora.
Beside his wife, he leaves his two sons; William Diaz and his wife Ivelisse, of Tampa FL, Raul Diaz and his wife Ada of Hartford. His three daughters; Jeanette Vargas and her husband Daniel, of Riverview FL, Jennifer Balbachan and her husband Narindra of West Hartford, and Maryann Diaz and her husband Fabio Vargas of Wethersfield. He also leaves a brother Jose Diaz and a sister Lillian Diaz Guerra, both in Peru. In addition he leaves his 12 grand children and 6 great grand children. Efrain was predeceased by a son, Michael Diaz and a brother Ruben Diaz.

A funeral service will be held Friday, March 5, 2021, 11:00 am at the Dillon Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpk. Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
