Esther Khargie, 73 of Avon, beloved wife of the late George "Dada" Harris, passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born on February 4, 1948 in Berbice, Guyana, daughter of the late Cecil Bhalgobin and Julia Khargie, and had lived in Hartford for many years before moving to Avon over 15 years ago.

She was a member of the First Church Of The Nazarene, Hartford and a loving mother and grandmother.

Esther is survived by her 2 sons; Karran "Naresh" Harris and his wife Salome of West Hartford, and Tillack "Ray" Harris and his wife Shelly of Hartford. Her 2 daughters; Sookmattie "Kavita" Persaud and her husband Tulsie of Avon, and Annette Bownoth and her husband Aaron of Canada. She also leaves her 3 brothers; Bennett, Gilbert, and Ramesh, her 4 sisters; Doris, Edith, Irene, and Chandrika, 11 grandchildren, and 1 granddaughter-in-law.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 12 Noon at First Church Of The Nazarene 932 Capitol Ave. Hartford, CT 06106. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford. Visiting hours will be Friday August 27, 2021 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Dillon Baxter Funeral Home 1276 Berlin Tpk. Wethersfield, CT 06109.
