POAD, Evelyn Evelyn (Casarella) Poad, of Newington, widow of Clive J. Poad, died Wednesday, (December 22, 2010) with her family by her side. She was born in Hartford, daughter and last surviving child of Francesco and Luigia (DiMattia) Casraella and had lived in Newington for 39 years. Prior to her retirement, Evelyn was a supervisor at Travelers Insurance Co. where she worked for 31 years. She was a longtime communicant of St. Mary's Church, Newington. She loved watching UCONN Women's basketball and was an avid Red Sox fan. She was the loving aunt of Janet Johnson of Portland, Patricia Demma of Rocky Hill, Susan Bottomley, Nancy Kerr, Thomas Panella, George Camarco all of Wethersfield, Edmund Casarella of No. Eastham, MA and Peter Casarella of Hebron, and many grand nieces and nephews, she also leaves cousins, Anne Renda and John Nappi both of Massachusetts. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edmund and G. Frank Casarella and three sisters, Edith Camarco, Viola Panella and Olga Crisulias. The funeral will be Thursday, (December 30, 2010), 10 a.m. directly at St. Mary's Church, 626 Willard Ave. Newington. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park. There will be no visiting hours.
