MERKOURIOU, Georgios Georgios Merkouriou, age 81, of Ellington, passed away on Wednesday, March 31, 2010. He was the devoted husband of Seva Merkouriou of 51 years. Georgios was born in Rhodes, Greece. He was the son of the late Savvas and Athena Merkouriou. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and brother and was committed to his family. Georgios leaves his loving sons, Savvas and his wife, Nancy Merkouriou, of Ellington, and Dr. John Merkouriou and his wife, Joanne, of New Britain, along with three grandchildren, Alexandra, Alexia and Lukas Merkouriou. He also leaves a sister, Katholiki Kritharides of Australia; a brother, Elias Merkouriou and his wife, Anastasia, of South Windsor; along with several nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed. Family and friends are asked to pay their respects on Monday, April 5, 2010, at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, CT, at 8:15-10:15 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m., at St George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford, CT.
