Gira Carmella Arserio LoSchiavo, 90, of Wethersfield, beloved widow of the late Anthony J. LoSchiavo, passed away peacefully in her home on July 30, 2021 with her family by her side. Born in New Haven on November 22, 1930, she was the eldest daughter of James and Christine Grasso Arserio.

A 1948 graduate of Bulkeley High School, she spent several years working for two Hartford insurance companies and studied art before raising her and Anthony's three children. She was a proud member of a local bowling club and the Wethersfield Art League and spent much of her free time traveling, and going to the theater and concerts. Family was everything to her. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be remembered laughing and cooking alongside her husband and entertaining on the accordion.

Gira is survived by her three children, Martin LoSchiavo and his wife Donna of Rocky Hill, Patricia McAndrew and her husband Mark of Great Diamond Island, Maine, Michael LoSchiavo of Stuart, Florida. She also leaves her grandchildren, Ashley and Amanda McAndrew and Cara and Tony LoSchiavo, her beloved sister and best friend Maria and husband Michael Valente, her two sister-in-laws, Anna Nolan and Rae Leone, goddaughter Christine Silvonic and husband William, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her loving husband Anthony, and her in-laws, Geraldine and Jack Cannarella, Anthony Leone and Gustavo and Gerlisa LoSchiavo.

A very special thank you to Nicky, Patrice and Lisa for their endless love and support for Gira these past few years, as well as to Tonja and Antoinette for their additional care and support and to Hartford Hospice Healthcare for helping her transition peacefully.

The services to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, 11:00 am at the Dillon Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpk. Wethersfield, CT 06109. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, at the funeral home, from 9 to 11 am, prior to the service.
