SIMONELLI, Guy A. "Babe" Sr. Guy A. "Babe" Simonelli, Sr., 92, beloved husband for 66 years to Marie (Cancelmo) Simonelli, died Thursday, January 4, 2007 at Elm Hill Nursing Center. He was born in Italy, son of the late Joseph and Lucia (Messeri) Simonelli and had lived in Wethersfield for over 20 years before moving to Rocky Hill in 1990. Babe was self employed and operated Babe's Parking Lot in Hartford for over 20 years, he later worked for Colt Firearms for 12 years before his retirement. He was a communicant of Corpus Christi Church and St. James Church, Rocky Hill. He was an avid fisherman and loved the water. Besides his wife he is survived by his daughter, Lucille S. Guay of Wethersfield and her companion Jim Larson, her son, Guy A. Simonelli, Jr. and his wife Vivian of New Milford, six grandchildren, Gregory Guay, Scott Guay and his wife Diana, David Simonelli and his wife Holly, Michael Simonelli and his wife Kerri, Joan Simonelli and Mark Simonelli and five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Monday, January 8, 2007, 10:45 a.m. from The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:30 a.m. in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy., Wethersfield. Burial will be private. Visiting hours will be Monday, prior to the funeral, 9-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home. Contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
