Halina (Chmelevsky) Golownicky, 92, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Alexander Golownicky, died, Saturday, March 26, 2011 at her home. She was born in Poland daughter of the late Gregorz and Stecy Chmelevsky. Halina attended law school at the University of Warsaw before coming to the U.S. She spoke seven different languages, and was an avid piano player and was secretary for a number of charitable Russian associations. She was a former member of St. Panteleimon's Church. She is survived by her niece, Alla Walsh of Edenburg, NY and her longtime caregiver, Yelena Kiriyan. The funeral will be Wednesday, March 30, 2011, 10 a.m. in St. Panteleimon's Church, 19 Becket St. Hartford with the Rev. Dionisy Nalitiv officiating. Burial will be in Grove Street Cemetery, New Haven. There will be no prior visiting hours. The Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, Wethersfield has care of arrangements.
