Helen Panaretos Demos, 88, beloved wife of Theodore Demos, passed away at home on Thursday, March 14, 2016. She was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Peter and Stella (Katopes) Panaretos, and had lived in Wethersfield since 1969. Prior to retirement Helen was an executive secretary at Pratt & Whitney for a number of years. She was mechanically inclined and loved to tinker. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, the Daughter's of Penelope and the Ladies of Philoptochos Society. Besides her husband she is survived by her son Peter T. Demos and his wife Ann of West Springfield, and her daughter Constance D. King of Ashford. She also leaves her seven grandchildren Alethia, Michael, Mark, Peter, Eleni, Danielle, and Kelsey and her three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, William Panaretos, and sister, Rena Panaretos. The funeral will be Tuesday April, 19, 2016, 11AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave, Hartford, 06114 with the Rev. Dr. George Zugravu officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Visiting hours will be prior to the service from 10AM-11AM at the church. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
