Helen 'Eleanor' J. Coleman of Wethersfield, died Saturday, March 25, 2017 at the age of 103. She was born in a small coal mining town, Larksville, Pennsylvania, to Edward and Grace Finley. She was predeceased by her husband Francis D. Coleman who died in 1996. Helen and Francis moved to Hartford for wartime work at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. Her deep Catholic faith and family were most important to Helen as she was a communicant of Corpus Christi and a member of the church's Women's Club. She worked at G. Fox and Company for many years and never refused an opportunity to care for her grandchildren. Helen is survived by her son William Coleman and his wife Pauline of Bloomfield, her daughter Grace Hayes and her husband Girard of Wethersfield. She is also survived by her brother Harold and his wife Betty of Modesto, California, and grandchildren Elizabeth Bowman, Sarah Coleman, Jason Coleman, Jeannette Davies, Sharon Richwine, Christopher Hayes and great-grandchildren Paul, Helen, Calvin, Max, Dexter and Moxie. She was predeceased by her sister Anna Flanagan and brother Edward Finley. We are thankful for the loving friendship she enjoyed with her neighbor Shirley Noel and the 10 years of dedicated care by the East 1 staff at St. Mary Home in West Hartford. The funeral will be Wednesday, March 29, 2017, 10:30 am, from the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpk. Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am in Corpus Christi Church, 601 Silas Deane Hwy. Wethersfield. Burial will follow in Village Cemetery.
