Helena M. Rego, 95, beloved wife of the late Manuel T. Rego passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Azores, Portugal, daughter of the late Jose Soares Coutinho and Angelina Adeleide de Mora. She worked for many years for the Aetna Insurance Co. and she was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Hartford. Helena found great joy in crocheting for her loved ones, creating handmade treasures with love and care. She also loved baking Portuguese cookies and homemade bread, filling her home with the warmth and comforting aromas of her favorite recipes.

Helena is survived by her 2 sons; Jose Rego and his wife Eduarda of Watertown, and Manuel Rego and his wife Anna of Canada, and her daughter, Maria Sousa and her husband Antonio of Wethersfield. She also leaves 4 grandchildren; Mike, Sandra, Amber, and Christina, and 7 great grandchildren; Austin, Axel, Evan, Kaitlyn, Thalia, Hailey, and Alaina. Helena was also predeceased by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 21, 2026, 11:00 am in Our Lady Of Fatima Church, 50 Kane St. Hartford, CT. Entombment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Calling hours will be held the same day, Sept 21, at The Dillon- Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield, CT from 9 to 10:30am.
