Irene B. (Cote) Lemay formerly of Hartford, Newington, and East Windsor, CT; Wife of Joseph Victorien (Vic) Lemay whom predeceased her, went to be with the angels on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the age of 92. She was born on July 24, 1921 in Lowell, Massachusetts. She moved to Hartford, CT in April of 1929. She was the daughter of Leodine (Branchaud) and Henry J. Cote. Irene is survived by her five children, Victor and his wife Sandra of Boise, Idaho; Jane and her husband Norman Morell of Ocala, Florida and York, Maine; Linda Kranmas of West Hartford, CT; Lorraine and her husband Richard Hyland of Lafayette, CA; Ronald Lemay of Westfield, MA, and nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; a brother Donald Cote of CO and a sister Edna Quinn and her husband Thomas of NH; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Rita Cheverier.
Irene was a very talented cake decorator and ceramic teacher. She belonged to the Legion of Mary at the Holy Spirit Church in Newington, CT. She was loved by the special people at Seabury Meadows and Bloomfield Healthcare. Thank you to you all for your excellent care of our mom.
The funeral will be Thursday, September 12, 2013, 9:15 a.m. from the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 367 So. Quaker Lane, West Hartford. Burial will follow in Westmeadow Cemetery, Newington. Friends may call at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home Wednesday, September 11th, 5:00-8:00 p.m.
