Ismael Mejias, 88, of Wethersfield, CT We bid farewell to an amazing man, husband, father, step-father,  grandfather and great-grandfather; Ismael Mejias who departed from this world on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the age of 88. He was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico.  Ismael was surrounded by his loving family in his final moments at Avery Heights Rehab facility in Hartford,  CT. He lived in Wethersfield, Ct with his loving wife, Julia Hernandez. Ismael was a man of immense humor and wisdom, cherishing every moment spent with his loved ones. He was a darn hard worker and loved working outdoors. Some of his occupations were; Truck driver in Florida State, Agriculture and farming.

Ismael is survived by a large family, which includes his three biological adult children, Ileana Mejias, Ismael Mejias. Jr., and Lissandra Mejias. He's survived by many grandchildren and great-grandkids from his biological children's side, a sister Juanita in Massachusetts.  Predeceased: His father Meraldo Mejias, mother Isabel Delgado, a brother Jesus Delgado and a daughter Madeline Mejias. Ismael had an extended family that included his loving wife, Julia and step adult children; Rosa Perez,  Carmen Hernandez-Torres, Nitza Nieves. A very large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  His Predeceased step-children; Maria Torres and Ricky Hernandez. Ismael's unwavering spirit will forever be remembered.  The love and respect he demonstrated to us, will always and forever live in our hearts.  We, his stepdaughters love and appreciated him dearly, for the way he cared, treated, loved and respected our dear mom.

Funeral service for Ismael will be held Thursday, August 22, 2024 at 1pm at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, CT. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
