James C. Sanders 71, devoted husband of Rebecca, loving and patient father of Amanda, took his final breath peacefully at his lifelong home in Wethersfield, in his own comfortable bed on June 25, 2018. James was born in Hartford, CT on November 25, 1946. He was predeceased by his parents Alice (Brown) Sanders and Frederick J. Sanders, Sr.  In addition to his wife and daughter he will continue to be remembered by his loyal brother, Frederick J. Sanders, Jr., and his wife, Beverly of Rocky Hill; his niece Colleen Cosker, her husband Thomas and their children, of Rocky Hill; two nephews, Jonathan G. Sanders, his wife Cindy, and their children of Glastonbury; Michael P. Sanders and all of his animal kingdom friends of Rocky Hill. He was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School, Hartford.  In 2002, after 35 years of service Jim retired from the Connecticut Department of Transportation as a Transit Manger in Public Transportation. While employed, he earned an Associate's Degree in Civil Engineering and a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics and Business Administration.  He enjoyed spending time with his family making every precious memory indelible.  Together with his wife and daughter, Jim spent his leisure time taking rides in his Corvettes, boating in his Silverton on the Connecticut River, and golfing around the state and in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Calling hours will be at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, CT from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2018.  Following the calling hours, at 11:00 a.m. a  Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will be celebrated by his long time friend Rev. James M. Moran at the Church of the Incarnation, 544 Prospect St., Wethersfield, CT.  Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.  Please visit www.dillonbaxter funeral home to share a memory with the family.
