Janet
Fernandez
Nov 12, 1962 — May 10, 2023
Janet Fernandez a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on May 10, 2023, at the young age of 60. She was born on November 12, 1962, in Gurabo, Puerto Rico to the late Evaristo Goytia and Isabel Perez.
Janet was a devoted wife of 46 years to her husband, Juan Fernandez. They raised two daughters and a son together, who blessed her with 11 beautiful grandchildren. Janet cherished nothing more than cooking for her family and friends. She was known for her famous sofrito, arroz con pollo, habichuelas and patitas guisadas, dishes that consistently brought a smile to everyone's face. Her passion for cooking was ignited by her mother-in-law, who taught her how to prepare traditional Puerto Rican cuisine at a young age.
Janet was a caring and compassionate woman who was always concerned about everyone else. She made it a point to call her loved ones every day to check in and was always the first to lend a helping hand when someone was in need. Her gentle spirit and warm smile will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
Janet is survived by her husband, Juan, her two daughters, Stacey and Lindsay, and her son Juan Jr. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, whom she adored and loved intensely. Janet was a devoted wife an exceptional mother, an extraordinary grandmother, and a genuine friend to all who knew her. Her kind heart and loving spirit will live on forever in the memories of those who knew her.
