Jaslynn Colon was born on August 21, 1978 in Hartford, CT to Robert Colon Sr. and Ramona (Plaza) Colon. She grew up in Sheldon Oaks with her two older brothers Robert Colon Jr. and Carlos Colon. Jaslynn passed away peacefully with her mother and daughters by her side at the young age of 41. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She has two daughters, Alaysha Walker, 23, and Taliyah Santiago, 19. As well as four nieces, Carolynn Colon, Lee Prince, Beverly Banville and Kassandra Colon. Known to many as Jazz with the bright red hair, she had a strong personality to match. With a kind heart and willingness to put others before herself, she was the type of person you could have long conversations with and would give endless advice. She was loving and always treated others with respect, as well as an amazing mother who devoted her life to her girls. She has instilled strength, kindness and dedication within them. It would be wrong to say that she lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. When anyone else would have given up, she stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly looks like. Jaslynn's indomitable spirit will encourage her family and friends to continue to persist in the face of any struggles. Even though Jaslynn is no longer here we are assured that her father Robert Colon Sr. welcomed her home with open arms. Jaslynn will be greatly missed and will live on through her mother, brothers, daughters, nieces, many aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. Your spirit will live within our hearts and our treasured memories. We love you Jazz, our guardian angel.
