Joba Ortiz, 93, of Hartford, beloved wife of the late Jose L. Ortiz, passed away Friday, August 25th, 2023. Born on March 13, 1930 in Comerío, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Sergio and Leonor (Cruz) Hernandez.

​Joba enjoyed reading, listening to music, cooking for her family, gardening, watching soap operas, taking long rides in the country side, going out for ice cream she loved sweets.

​She is survived by her four sons; Jose Torres, Jose L. Ortiz, Tomas Ortiz, and Jose A. Ortiz, and her five daughters; Emma Torres, Milagros Ortiz, Maria Ortiz, Margarita Ortiz, and Ivette Ortiz.  She raised two of her Grand-Children Jose A. Ortiz Jr. and Candy Hernandez- Luna.  She also leaves behind her twenty-two grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, the wives and husbands of her children & grandchildren, her brother Marcelino Hernandez, and sister Maria Hernandez.

​Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM, at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield.  The funeral will be  Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM with a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.  To share a memory with the family, please visit www.dillonbaxter.com.
