John M. "Jack" Muir, 78, of Newington, beloved husband of the late Nancy (Shoro) Muir, died unexpectedly at his home, June 15, 2011. He was born in Hartford, son of the late David and Mary (Lang) Muir and had lived in Newington for over 50 years. Jack was President of Muir Envelope Company for many years. He was a Master Mason and a member of St. John's Lodge AF & AM, a former member of South Congregational Church and presently regularly attended the Good News Baptist Church. Jack was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his son, Daniel J. Muir of Newington, his daughter, Sandra L. Murray and her husband Mitchell of East Windsor, his brother, David Muir and his wife Eileen Muir of Newington, four grandchildren, Alex and Austin Muir, Krystina Grasso and Megan Murray, a great granddaughter, Kaylee Gamache, his daughter-in-law, Angela Muir of Newington a niece Mary Lou Gianntonio and her husband Livio, many friends, among them, Charles and Joan Nardi, Josephine Williams, Jack Hayes, Donna Ouellette and Lou Berardinelli. He was predeceased by his son, Andrew Muir. The funeral will be Friday, June 17, 2011, 7:30 p.m.at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke. Wethersfield with the Rev. Danny Crumpton officiating. Burial in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington will be private.
