Julia Gonzalez, 89, of Hartford, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 11, 2021. She was born in 1932 to the late Antonio and Rosa Gonzalez on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. Julia later emigrated to Connecticut to where she worked and started her Family.   Julia loved to cook and worked at many restaurants in the Hartford area as a Chef.

She leaves behind a son, Francisco Colon of Maryland and four daughters, Myrna Colon of Hartford, Miriam Morales of New York, Rosa Colon of New York, and Olga Colon of Hartford . She was a beloved Grandmother and Great Grandmother to a long list of beautiful children. A friend to many and a smiling face that would light up any room.

Julia was predeceased by her daughter Carmen Colon.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on August 16, 2021 at Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home 1276 Berlin Tpke, Wethersfield, CT 06109.  Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave, Hartford, CT. Visiting hours will take place prior to the funeral service from 10:00am to 12:00pm at the funeral home.
