Kalawatie Sukhlall, more commonly known as Auntie Annie, 94, of Hartford, CT, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Hartford Hospital. Kalawatie was born in British Guyana in 1930 and was the daughter of the late Ramroop and Dhanwanteah Roopa. She was preceded by her beloved husband Tomby Sukhlall, and son John M. Sukhlall.

Kalawatie was the matriarch of a large family and survived by her three daughters (Tara Sukhlall, Beryl Crespo, and Lyla Lakha) two sons, (Darrell Sukhlalland Harrinarine Sukhlall) 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. Her gentle voice, kind disposition, and peaceful nature will be missed by all. She is, perhaps, best remembered by her love for gardening, fishing, and cooking.

Funeral service for Kalawatie will be held Friday, May 23, 2025 at 10am at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Tpke., Wethersfield, CT. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
