Leonard T. Oberg, 76 of Rocky Hill CT, passed away on April 17th, 2019 after a long illness.  He was surrounded by loved ones and fought a tough battle.  Born on December 8th, 1942 in Stratford CT, he was the son of Benton and Eleanor (Nowell) Oberg.

He is predeceased by his son Benton J. Oberg and great nephew Joseph T. Connors.  Leonard attended schools in Stratford and Bridgeport, CT and was a carpenter for many years.  Leonard loved the beach, casinos, traveling to Las Vegas and Florida as well as spending time with family and friends.  He loved a good game of poker and was known for being a loving man who was always ready to lend a hand to help others. Lenny was loved by all who knew him, and was a strong man who overcame many obstacles in his life after being assaulted and left with traumatic brain injury in 1986.

He survived and triumphed against all odds.  Leonard is survived by his Daughter Stacey L. Oberg and fiancé James P. Blakeney, her mother Laurie Bibisi, brother Robert M. Oberg and his wife Lynn, Harold Oberg and his wife Diane, his nieces Kara Burk, Melissa and Emily Connors, his nephews Christopher and Harold Oberg, Robert Salter, great nephew and nieces Tommy, Leah, Jessica, Marena Connors, his grandson Shepard Oberg and many generations of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held Saturday April 27, 2019 at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike Wethersfield, CT 06109.  Calling hours 1-3 PM followed by a Mass at the Funeral Home from 3-4pm
