Lillian Lewis, 94, passed away on Sunday (November 4, 2012) at the Jefferson House in Newington. Lillian was born on July 8,1918 in Beresford, SD. She graduated from the University of SD in 1940 with a BS in business. Lillian lived in Chicago for over 40 years, and then moved to First Church Village in Wethersfield in 1990. She was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Bears, but when she came to CT, the UConn Huskies and the Boston Red Sox became "her teams." Lillian loved being around family and friends, including hosting impromptu gatherings at the outdoor table on her patio. Her family especially enjoyed her sense of humor, and the delicious cookies and cakes baked by "Grams." Lillian is survived by her daughter Nancy Bates, her husband Steve, and their children Geoff and Liz; and her stepdaughter Susan Asher, her husband Bob, and their daughter Alison White and her husband Josh. Lillian was predeceased by her husbands M. David Schneider and Charles W. Lewis; and her brother, Vernon Voegeli. The family will receive family and friends on Monday, November 12, 2012, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Dillon-Baxter Funeral Home, 1276 Berlin Turnpike, Wethersfield, CT. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
