KELLY, Luther V. Luther V. Kelly, 93, of East Hartford, and a former Allagash, Maine resident, died, Friday (April 23, 2010). He was the beloved husband of the late Velva M. (Hughes) Kelly. He was born in Allagash, ME, son of the late Ransford and Mary (Mullins) Kelly. Prior to his retirement, Luther worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 30 years. He loved the outdoors, particularly Northern Maine. He was an avid country music fan and he played the banjo. He loved his bible and read it daily. He loved his family especially his wife of 57 years Velva. He is survived by two sons, Warren P. Kelly of East Hartford, and Brian P. Kelly and his wife Linda of Swanton, VT, three daughters, Kathryn K. Simmons and her husband, Alfred of Harleysville, PA and Rosalie Kelly and Eleanor Peterson both of Caribou, ME, seven grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son, Harlan Kelly, four brothers and three sisters. The funeral was held Tuesday (April 27, 2010). Burial was in West Meadow Cemetery, Newington, CT.
