Lydia Ramos of Wethersfield, a pillar of love and light, passed away on January 20, 2024, at the age of 94. Born on April 1, 1929, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, Lydia leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to have known and loved her.
Lydia was a woman of many talents and passions. One of her greatest joys in life was found in the kitchen, where she delighted in experimenting with new recipes and mastering the art of traditional Puerto Rican dishes. Her culinary creations were a testament to her love for her family and friends, as she poured her heart into every meal she prepared.
Beyond the kitchen, Lydia had a green thumb and a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature. Her love for gardening allowed her to cultivate vibrant blooms and lush greenery, creating a tranquil oasis that reflected her nurturing spirit.
Lydia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, German Ramos, and her great-grandson Joseph Ramos Jr. Although their absence leaves a void, Lydia's enduring love and the memories they shared will forever live on.
She is survived by her two devoted sons, Hector Ramos and his wife Glenda of Windsor, CT, and Andres Ramos and his wife Iris of Wethersfield, CT. Lydia's legacy also lives on through her grandchildren: Michael M. Ramos, Joseph A. Ramos, David T. Ramos, Denise Ramos, and Christina Ramos. Additionally, she leaves behind a cherished group of great-grandchildren: Michael A. Ramos, Jesse J. Ramos, Kevin Ramos, Vincent Ramos, Nicholas Ramos, Johnathan Ramos, Nina Ramos, Marc A. Ramos, John P. Manzari, and Anthony J. Manzari. Lydia is also survived by her brother Julio Martinez of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In the tapestry of life, Lydia Ramos' thread was woven with kindness, laughter, and unwavering love. Her memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who had the privilege of calling her family or friend. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the gardens of heavenly bliss, and may her legacy continue to inspire generations to come.
